"It is a cardboard construction in a corner. It’s creating an additional place within an existing space. It’s finding shelters in shelters. It’s scrutinizing what is there and then trying to subvert the structures of the built environment by adding another built environment. It is like the joy of using tables as chairs and windows as doors. It’s like the desire to shout with whispers and talk in silence."
This is the second work in which I used a temporary cardboard construction. Both times I brought some pre-built segments and cardboard boxes to the location. On the location I started to build and grow a shelter. The Cardboard Corner, located at Jupiterkade 2 in The Hague and part of the exhibition A Finger in Every Pie, is made to function as a radio station. She will host us, while we host the radio show Mushroom Pie.
